Welcome to issue 3 of Productivity Magazine.

With spring just around the corner, it is gradually becoming clear that this year is bringing new challenges that resemble past ones. We face issues that keep us busy at work and at home. Despite all this, I hope this material contains something of interest to you, our readers.

So, what topics does this new issue of Productivity Magazine cover?

2011 Results

In 2011, Atlas Copco set new records for sales and operating profit.

For the full year, organic revenue grew 16% to SEK 81.2 billion, with a margin of 21.6%. In the near term, the overall demand for Atlas Copco’s products and services is expected to weaken somewhat from the currently high level. (more…)

Atlas Copco celebrates

Congratulations to all Atlas Copco employees and friends on the company’s 139th birthday!

Atlas Copco was founded on February 21, 1873, to manufacture and sell all types of materials for building and operating railways, and to set up the necessary workshops. When first established, AB Atlas had an unusually large number of shareholders – 50 – and the largest was the Wallenberg family (still involved with Atlas Copco today). The initiative to start the company was taken by a 36-year-old engineer named Eduard Fränckel, who also became the company’s first managing director.  (more…)
